Week 5 Fantasy Football re-cap
Non PPR aka Standard Scoring studs and duds of the week
Covid-19 impacted the NFL and fantasy football world again as the New England vs Denver game was moved to week 6 because quarterback Cam Newton tested positive. The Titans had 5 players test positive for the virus forcing the league to re-schedule the game for Tuesday the 15th. They had 16 days to prepare and they came out and whooped up the 4-0 Buffalo Bills 42-16.
Dak Prescott should have signed that 5 year $175 million dollar contract from the Dallas Cowboys.
He rolled the dice and signed the franchise tag for $31 million for one year instead. Now he’s in a hospital bed after getting season ending ankle surgery. It’s too bad because he was having an amazing fantasy football season.
The Cleveland Browns put up 31 points on the #1 Fantasy Football Defense.
The #1 defense couldn’t stop the #1 rushing offense as Kareem Hunt and Baker Mayfield moved the ball up and down the field with ease. And Phillip Rivers played like Old Man Rivers. It might be time for him to hang up his cleats.
Justin Herbert is the next star quarterback in the NFL
The kid who replaced Old Man Rivers in Los Angeles put up 27.63 points against a pretty good Saints defense. He’s 0-3 but has outplayed Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady and Drew Brees. He’s the front runner for Rookie of the Year.

The NFL is at the quarter mark of the season. Scoring is up but so are the injuries. I’m looking at my Commish Kit fantasy football draft board and see eight injured players from the first two rounds. Ouch!
