The best fantasy football draft boards in the country track more than names. Opportunity is what actually matters. Week 5 delivered two games that look like coaching disasters on the surface. Underneath, there are real fantasy clues worth finding. Here’s what Commish Kit is watching after a wild Sunday.

The Commanders Had a Game-Winning Field Goal. Then They Ran Out of Clock.

Washington recovered a Cam Skattebo fumble in overtime and drove all the way to the Giants’ 24-yard line.

A game-winning field goal was right there.

Then the Commanders ran another play instead of spiking the ball. Jayden Daniels scrambled, couldn’t find an open receiver, and got tackled near the line of scrimmage. The clock hit zero before the field goal unit could get onto the field.

Final score: 27-27. Tie.

Dan Quinn admitted postgame that it was a massive mistake. Daniels also took blame for not recognizing the clock situation. Minority owner Magic Johnson posted publicly about it. Commanders fans are still furious.

That’s the controversy. A fumble recovery in Giants territory, a drive to the 24-yard line, and Washington somehow left without a win.

Fantasy Football Implications: Don’t let this disaster cloud your evaluation of Daniels as a fantasy asset. He ran for 103 yards and two rushing touchdowns before the final sequence fell apart. The clock blunder was a communication failure between the sideline and the quarterback. It does not change what Daniels does as a rusher or as a playmaker. Keep him in your lineup. Furthermore, monitor whether Quinn makes any offensive staff changes this week — if play-calling responsibilities shift, that’s worth knowing before Sunday.

Jameis Winston Was Really Good. Your Fantasy Roster Should Notice.

Before the fumble that set up Washington’s final drive, the Giants were cooking.

Winston finished 33-of-54 for 326 yards and three touchdowns. Season highs across the board. Against a Commanders defense that came in playing well, moreover, he made it look routine.

Malik Nabers caught 11 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Likely added 11 catches, 94 yards, and two scores. New York held the ball for 39 minutes and threw it 54 times.

That is a passing game operating at full volume.

Fantasy Football Implications: Eleven targets. Eleven catches. A touchdown. If Nabers has been sitting on your bench, consider this your wake-up call. Likely is a legitimate tight end add right now. As a result of Sunday’s target volume, both players deserve serious starter consideration going forward.

Philadelphia Flew to London and Lost on the Last Play

Taking a late lead into the final seconds, the Eagles looked like they had it.

Nick Sirianni then kicked the ball short on the ensuing kickoff. Jacksonville had no timeouts. A miracle was needed.

Abdullah’s return set up Cam Little for a 57-yard field goal with one second left. Little made it. Jaguars win, 19-17.

Sirianni is taking the blame publicly. Kicking the ball into the end zone forces Jacksonville to drive 75 yards with no time and no timeouts. Instead, a returnable ball gave them the opening they needed.

Fantasy Football Implications: That loss belongs to a coaching decision, not the offense. Lawrence finished 24-of-39 for 331 yards and two touchdowns. Parker Washington caught six passes for 124 yards and two scores. Both are legitimate fantasy starters this week. Furthermore, Cam Little just nailed a 57-yarder on the road under maximum pressure — if your league starts kickers, he deserves a serious look.

Philadelphia’s Offense Has a Real Problem

Holding Jacksonville to 19 points in London, the Eagles’ defense did its job.

Jalen Carter recorded two sacks and two forced fumbles. Philadelphia’s defensive effort was strong. The offense, however, gained only 232 total yards and the team still lost by two.

At 2-3, moreover, this is the second straight week the Eagles have been offensively inconsistent.

Fantasy Football Implications: Don’t panic-drop Eagles receivers. Sunday’s loss was not their fault. Before setting your lineup this week, check target numbers and snap counts. One more week of limited production is when harder questions need to be asked.

What Week 5 Is Actually Telling You

Two games. Two ugly endings. Both deliver the same lesson.

Individual performance outlasts team chaos. Daniels scored twice in a game Washington didn’t win. Nabers caught 11 passes in a game that ended in a tie. Lawrence threw for 331 yards while the Eagles flew home empty.

Every one of those numbers went on fantasy scoresheets regardless of the final result. Because fantasy football rewards individual production, the chaos around your players matters far less than what they actually did. Monitor opportunity. Ignore the drama. Check the injury report before Sunday.

FAQ

What happened in the Giants-Commanders game in Week 5 2026?

Washington and New York tied 27-27 in overtime on October 11, 2026. The Commanders recovered a Cam Skattebo fumble and drove to the Giants’ 24-yard line with a chance to win. With roughly 12 seconds left and no timeouts, Washington ran a play instead of spiking the ball. Jayden Daniels scrambled, couldn’t find an open receiver, and got tackled as the clock expired. The field goal unit never got on the field. Dan Quinn and Daniels both took public blame for the clock management failure. Magic Johnson posted about it. Commanders fans are still mad.

Should I still start Cam Skattebo in Week 6?

Monitor his practice participation before deciding. Sunday’s overtime fumble was the first of his career. Coaches notice those moments. If his carries hold steady through the week, he remains a viable start. A reduced role, however, changes his fantasy value quickly.

Is Malik Nabers a must-start after Week 5?

Yes. Nabers caught 11 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown against Washington. New York threw 54 passes on the day. That target volume makes him a reliable weekly starter when healthy.

What happened in the Eagles-Jaguars London game?

Jacksonville beat Philadelphia 19-17 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 11, 2026. Cam Little hit a 57-yard field goal with one second left after Nick Sirianni chose to make the kickoff returnable instead of kicking it into the end zone. Trevor Lawrence threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns. Parker Washington had six catches for 124 yards and two scores.

Is Trevor Lawrence worth starting in fantasy right now?

Yes. Lawrence completed 24-of-39 passes for 331 yards and two touchdowns in a road win in London. Jacksonville is 4-1. He’s a reliable fantasy starter in most formats.
