WEEK 15 FANTASY FOOTBALL RE-CAP
NON PPR AKA STANDARD SCORING STUDS AND DUDS OF THE WEEK
Week 15 started with the year’s final Thursday night game between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders. Justin Herbert threw for 314 yards and two TDs and then ran in the winning score in overtime to give the Chargers a 30-27 victory. The Packers won their fourth straight game with an ugly win over the Panthers 24-16. With 1:47 left in the game, Zach Pascall scored the go-ahead touchdown and gave the Colts a 27-20 win over the Texans.
King Henry did it again
In Nashville, King Henry did it again with his ninth 100-yard rushing game, as the Titans thumped the Lions 46-25. Baltimore wide receiver Dez Bryant scored his first touchdown since Dec. 10, 2017, when he played with the Cowboys. The Ravens beat up the Jaguars 40-14, but the silver lining here is that the Jaguars are now the front runners for the number one pick in the 2021 NFL draft thanks to the Jets getting their first win of the season. Jacksonville needs to lose its next two games, and they will be guaranteed the number one pick.
Oklahoma quarterback battle
We had a battle of former Oklahoma quarterbacks down in Arizona. Jalen Hurts outplayed Kyler Murray, but the Cardinals defense stepped it up in the end, and the Cards beat the Eagles 33-26. Philadelphia quarterback Carson Wentz isn’t happy being a backup. He wants out. LOL. Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-6 win over the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. The Dolphins stayed ahead of the Ravens in the playoff hunt with a 22-12 win over the Patriots.
Patriots will miss playoffs
New England (6-8) will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2008. Nick Mullens is not the answer at quarterback for the 49ers. Cowboy running back Tony Pollard had a big fantasy day with 25.20 points replacing the injured Ezekiel Elliott. The Boys won 41-33. Atlanta keeps finding new ways to lose. Matt Ryan finally had a decent day with 365 passing yards and 3 TDs, but it wasn’t enough as Tom Brady and Leonard Fournette brought the Bucs back from 17 points down in the second half to beat the Dirty Birds 31-27. Seattle beats Washington 20-15 and clinches a playoff berth for the 9th time in 11 seasons under Pete Carroll.
Da Bears still in playoff hunt
Somehow and someway Da Bears are still in the playoff hunt. Chicago running back David Montgomery had 146 rushing yards and two TDs in a 33-27 win over the Vikings. The Bengals started a third-string quarterback and gave the Steelers their third straight loss. Running back Giovani Bernard had a big night with 21.70 fantasy points. I hate to say it, but Big Ben looks washed up. Bengals 27 Steelers 17.
WORST WIN EVER
The New York Jets got their first win of the season over the Los Angeles Rams. The Jets (1-13) fell to No. 2 in the 2021 draft order, behind the Jaguars (1-13). If New York and Jacksonville finish with the same record, the Jaguars would hold the tiebreaker and get the first pick and take Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
He’s back
Drew Brees made his return to the Saints after not playing for a month. He looked awful in the first half of the game against Kansas City but played great in the second half throwing three touchdowns. It wasn’t enough as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs won 32-29. With this win, the Chiefs are undefeated on the road, a first in franchise history.
BILLS CLINCH AFC EAST
The rest of the league has been put on notice. The Buffalo Bills are ready for the playoffs. On Saturday, quarterback Josh Allen had a monster game with 37.66 points, and the Bills clinched the AFC East with an ass whooping of the Broncos 48-19. Wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley both had over 100 receiving yards for the Bills.
