FANTASY FOOTBALL SURPRISES AND DISAPPOINTMENTS – WEEK 18

By Eddie Sebastian

Congrats to the Georgia Bulldogs as they snap a 41-year title drought to win over The Alabama Crimson Tide in the National Championship game. Georgia 33 Alabama 18.

Most leagues finished their seasons last week, so I’m going to tell you about some milestones that some players hit during the 2021 season.

SURPRISES

Pittsburgh Steelers: T.J. Watt – 22.5 sacks (T-most in NFL history)

Miami Dolphins: Jaylen Waddle – 104 receptions (most by a rookie in NFL history)

Green Bay Packers: Davante Adams – 1,553 receiving yards (most in Packers history)

Baltimore Ravens: Mark Andrews – 107 receiving yards (most in ravens history)

Cincinnati Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase – 1,455 receiving yards (most in Bengals history)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Mike Evans – 8 straight seasons with 1,000+ receiving yards (most in NFL history)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tom Brady – 2nd Quarterback with multiple seasons of 5,000+ passing yards

Los Angeles Rams: Cooper Kupp – Pro Football Talk’s Offensive Player Of The Year (he led the league in receptions (145), yards (1,947), and touchdowns (16).

DISAPPOINTMENTS

Indianapolis Colts: All they had to do was beat the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars are they were in the playoffs. Carson Wentz had a crappy day with 185 passing yards, 1 TD, and 1 interception in their 26-11 loss. Because of their loss, the Pittsburgh Steelers got in instead.

The following coaches were fired on Monday January 10, 2022

Minnesota Vikings: Mike Zimmer

Chicago Bears: Matt Nagy

Miami Dolphins: Brian Flores

Denver Broncos: Vic Fangio
