FANTASY FOOTBALL 2020 WEEK 9 RECAP – STUDS AND DUDS
WEEK 9 FANTASY FOOTBALL RE-CAP
NON PPR AKA STANDARD SCORING STUDS AND DUDS OF THE WEEK
Week 9 started on Thursday night with the Packers beating the 49ers Junior Varsity 34-17. The Pittsburgh Steelers escape Dallas with a 24-19 win over the Cowboys and improve to 8-0. Russell Wilson had four turnovers, and the Buffalo defense disrupted him all day as the Seahawks lost to the Bills 44-34. Dalvin Cook ran through Detroit’s Swiss cheese defense for 37.20 fantasy points. He also surpassed Derrick Henry for the league lead in rushing yards 858 to 843. It didn’t help that Henry only had 66 yards versus the Bears. Despite his lackluster performance, the Titans still won 24-17. The Baltimore defense shut down Old Man Rivers and the Colts 24-10. In a game of two 1-6 teams, Will Fuller torched the Jacksonville defense on a 77-yard touchdown bomb from Deshaun Watson as the Texans beat the Jaguars 27-25. The Falcons are soaring under new head coach Raheem Morris as they beat the Broncos 34-27. Washington quarterback Alex Smith came in to replace an injured Kyle Allen, but it didn’t help as they lost to the Giants 23-20. And the Chargers had another heartbreaking loss. They thought they won the game on a last-second touchdown with no time left on the clock. Replay would show that Tight End Donald Parham dropped the ball, and the Raiders escaped Los Angeles with a 31-26 victory. Cam Newton scored two rushing touchdowns and Nick Folk hit a game winning field goal to give the Patriots a 30-27 win over the Jets on MNF.
Welcome back CMC
The self-proclaimed number one draft pick in fantasy football, Christian McCaffrey returned on Sunday and had 27.10 fantasy points for the Panthers. Carolina dominated the time of possession 38:01 to 21:59 and had a chance for the upset win. Kicker Joey Sly attempted a 67-yard field goal that had the distance, but the wind blew it to the right, and Kansas City held on for a 33-31 victory.
Saints obliterate Bucs 38-3
The Saints have now beat the Bucs twice this year. First-round draft pick Michael Thomas returned but only had 6.80 fantasy points. It didn’t matter because the Saints defense annihilated Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay offense. Tom Terrific had 2.36 points. Quarterbacks Drew Brees and Taysom Hill carved up the Bucs defense like a Thanksgiving Day turkey. This game was over at halftime. On the bright side for Tampa Bay, Antonio Brown can still catch.
Tua time in miami
Now you know why Miami benched Fitzmagic. Tua Tagovailoa, the prized rookie quarterback from Alabama, led the Dolphins to 10 unanswered points in the 4th quarter for a 34-31 win. Kyler Murray and the Cardinals should have won this game, but kicker Zane Gonzalez didn’t have enough leg and couldn’t reach the crossbar on a 49-yard field-goal attempt that would have tied the game with 1:53 remaining.
