If you’re a fantasy football player trying to make sense of the 2026 NFL offseason before your draft, you’re going to need a bigger whiteboard. Because the league has reshuffled rosters, handed out half-billion-dollar contracts, and left a trail of confused fan bases from Miami to Seattle. Here’s the full breakdown, with fantasy football implications built in.

It’s Only June, But Let’s Talk Some Football

We’ve got plenty of guys rocking new uniforms this season, and A.J. Brown landing in New England didn’t exactly come out of nowhere. That story was probably hatched months ago when Mike Vrabel was allegedly out there kanoodling with reporters. Funny how all those “A.J. Brown is a locker room distraction” stories started popping up right before the Patriots traded for him.

Brown officially became a Patriot after Philadelphia traded him for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick, and he immediately becomes New England’s No. 1 wide receiver. Furthermore, he reunites with Vrabel, who coached him in Tennessee — and Brown himself said he better understands Vrabel’s coaching style at this stage of his career. Drake Maye finally has the weapon he’s been waiting for. Sky Sports

Meanwhile, the Patriots cut ties with Stefon Diggs in free agency after his off-field drama finally became more exhausting than his social media feed, and signed Romeo Doubs to a four-year, $68 million contract. Doubs somehow got permission to wear Gronk’s legendary No. 87. That should be illegal. ESPN

You know what else should be illegal? The Red Sox sitting dead last in the AL East. Maybe shipping all your superstars out of town wasn’t the greatest long-term strategy.

Fantasy football implications: A.J. Brown is an immediate WR1 target in New England — projections have him at 85 catches for 1,233 yards and nine touchdowns with Maye’s efficiency as a passer feeding him targets. Romeo Doubs slides into a solid WR2 role and is worth a mid-round pick. Diggs is done as a fantasy asset. NFL

Splash… And We Ain’t Talking About The Tom Hanks Movie

The Dolphins blew the whole thing up. After Tua Tagovailoa threw a career-high 15 interceptions in 2025 and averaged his lowest yards per game since his rookie season, Miami cut him loose and absorbed an NFL-record $99.2 million in dead cap money. Tua landed in Atlanta, which now somehow has two left-handed quarterbacks competing for the same job. As a result, Miami also shipped Tyreek Hill out of town and traded Jaylen Waddle to Denver for a 2026 first-round pick, third-round pick, and fourth-round pick. At this point, the only Dolphin worth drafting is Devon Achane. Furthermore, former Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel — fired after Miami’s implosion — showed up in Los Angeles as the Chargers’ offensive coordinator and immediately started comparing running back Omarion Hampton to Hall of Famer Terrell Davis. Easy there, Mike. The kid hasn’t even played a full season.

Fantasy football implications: Achane is your only relevant Miami skill player heading into 2026. Waddle in Denver gets a massive boost playing with Bo Nix in a real offense — target him as a WR2 with upside. Tua is a streaming QB option at best in Atlanta, competing with Michael Penix Jr. Hampton in LA is an intriguing late-round dart throw if McDaniel really does see something special.

There’s A New Mike In Town

Some of you old-timers might remember Michael Douglas playing Inspector Steve Keller on The Streets of San Francisco. Well, now there’s a different Mike making headlines. Future Hall of Famer Mike Evans signed a three-year deal with the 49ers, ending a 12-year tenure in Tampa Bay. George Kittle personally sold him on the move. I guess Evans finally got tired of starring in The Baker Mayfield Show. Fox News

Fantasy football implications: Evans joins a 49ers offense built around Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey and immediately becomes the WR1 in San Francisco. He’s a bounce-back candidate after injuries limited him to just eight games in 2025 — and at 32, he’s not done. Target him as a mid-round WR2 with proven big-game pedigree.

Baby Yoda Has Left The Building

Arizona finally had enough of watching Kyler Murray get hurt every season. The Cardinals released him and still had to eat more than $35 million in guaranteed money. Minnesota quickly scooped him up on a one-year deal to compete with J.J. McCarthy for the starting job. Not bad work if you can get it.

Don’t waste your money at the theater to see The Mandalorian and Grogu, because it’s just a compressed big-screen version of season four.

Fantasy football implications: Murray in Minnesota is a high-upside late-round flier if he wins the starting job — he’s still capable of dual-threat production when healthy. The problem is the “when healthy” part. McCarthy is the safer long-term bet for dynasty leagues. Neither is worth an early investment.

Hit The Bricks

Kenneth Walker III was the Super Bowl MVP of the Seahawks’ championship victory over New England, rushing for 313 yards and four touchdowns across three playoff games. A few months later, Seattle basically pulled a DX and told him, “Hit the Bricks. Your services are no longer needed.” Cold world. Reports confirmed Walker was “irked” with the Seahawks before his departure. cbssportsTMZ

Don’t feel too bad for him. He signed with Kansas City on a three-year, $45 million deal, where Patrick Mahomes just agreed to a restructured contract worth $504.75 million — the first NFL deal ever valued at over half a billion dollars. Half a billion. By the time that deal ends, Travis Kelce will be retired, married to Taylor Swift, and probably hosting a game show somewhere. Moreover, Mahomes is still rehabbing a torn ACL, which makes Walker’s arrival in Kansas City even more important as the Chiefs try to defend their dynasty. cbssports + 2

As long as Rashee Rice can stay out of trouble, Kansas City will be just fine.

Fantasy football implications: Walker is an immediate RB1 in Kansas City — possibly the best landing spot a running back could ask for. Mahomes’ injury timeline is worth monitoring heading into August, but even in a worst-case scenario, Walker handles a full workload. Target him in the second or third round. Mahomes himself is a top-3 fantasy QB when healthy, but his ACL recovery adds real risk to a first-round investment.
