If you’re an IDP fantasy football owner, you already know the offseason defensive shakeup has been one of the wildest in years. Because trades involving Myles Garrett, Maxx Crosby, and a handful of Pro Bowl-caliber linebackers have completely reshuffled IDP value across the league, getting your cheat sheets updated now is essential before draft season locks in. Here’s everything that happened — and what it means for your fantasy lineup.

The Trade That Wasn’t

Baltimore thought it had landed Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby. The Ravens were ready to pull the trigger on a blockbuster deal — two first-round picks headed to Las Vegas — before Crosby failed his physical and the whole thing blew up. The Ravens got their picks back.

So Baltimore did what every fantasy owner does when Plan A falls apart. They panic-shopped. The Ravens turned to the free agent market and added Trey Hendrickson out of Cincinnati. Sometimes the rebound relationship works out better than the original one.

Fantasy football implications: Crosby remains a Raider — Las Vegas has confirmed he’ll be on the roster for Week 1. Keep him in your IDP rankings as a Raider, not a Raven. Hendrickson slots into Baltimore’s front seven as a legitimate IDP sack producer in a new system.

Birds Fly East

Tariq Woolen packed his bags and left Seattle for Philadelphia. Meanwhile, the Colts lost two defensive studs. Zaire Franklin, the No. 1 IDP linebacker from last season, is now a Green Bay Packer. And edge rusher Kwity Paye headed to Las Vegas.

Fantasy football implications: Franklin was last season’s No. 1 IDP linebacker — moving from Indianapolis to Green Bay changes his scheme fit, so don’t assume his production carries over 1-for-1. Woolen joins a much deeper Eagles secondary, which could mean fewer snaps but better matchups. Paye gets a fresh start in Las Vegas as their new edge headliner.

From Cleveland Rocks to I Love LA

The Rams looked at Matthew Stafford’s birth certificate and decided it was time to stop pretending this was a long-term relationship. If Stafford only has a year or two left, Los Angeles wasn’t going to waste them being cute.

So they pushed all their chips into the middle and made the biggest move of the offseason, landing Myles Garrett from Cleveland. The Browns got Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick. So no, this was not a garage sale.

Verse is no throw-in. He’s a real player, a former Defensive Rookie of the Year, already a two-time Pro Bowler, and one of the league’s rising stars. And on the way out, Garrett thanked the Browns and their fans for shaping him into who he is.

Still, when a Ferrari is on the table, you don’t show up with a coupon. The scary part? The Rams already had one of the better defensive fronts in football. Now, opposing quarterbacks get to spend all week studying film of Myles Garrett and all Sunday running for their lives.

As for Cleveland, fans are once again being asked to trust “the process.” At this point, the Browns’ process has been rebuilt more times than a Windows laptop.

Fantasy football implications: Garrett instantly becomes the top IDP defensive end target in any league with the Rams’ improved supporting cast around him. Verse moves to a rebuilding Cleveland defense where he’ll likely see a heavier target share of opposing blockers — monitor his sack total early in the season before locking him in as a top-tier IDP option.
