The 2019 N.F.L. draft class is three years into their careers, and now we can fairly assess if the player has panned out for their franchise or, more importantly, if they became good fantasy football players. Therefore, we are only focusing on offensive players that were drafted in the first round.
1. ARIZONA CARDINALS: QB KYLER MURRAY, The Heisman Trophy winner, was supposed to be playing baseball for the Oakland A’s. He opted out and chose football instead. He chose wisely as he has become a fantasy football stud and is a Top 5 quarterback in 2022. A
6. NEW YORK GIANTS: QB DANIEL JONES, He was expected to be a late first-round pick. The Giants traded up to number six to grab him. He had over 3,00 yards passing and 24 touchdowns his rookie season. He’s regressed since then, throwing 21 combined his next two seasons. He’s a backup in fantasy leagues. D
8. DETROIT LIONS: T.E. J. HOCKENSON, He’s a good player and has made the pro bowl. But he has only had one solid season. If he could stay healthy and play on a better team, he would be an elite tight end. B-
15. WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM: QB DWAYNE HASKINS,He went from starting quarterback to breaking covid protocols while being maskless at a strip club, then being released to becoming a backup on the Steelers. He has more interceptions 7 than touchdowns 5 in his career. F
20. DENVER BRONCOS: TE NOAH FANT, Was the second tight end drafted in the first round behind his University of Iowa teammate T.J. Hockenson. He hasn’t had the best quarterbacks in Denver and only has 10 touchdowns in three years. B-
24. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: RB JOSH JACOBS, The experts, said he was drafted too high. Well, he has amassed over 3,000 yards rushing with 28 touchdowns. He’s good, not great. B+
25. BALTIMORE RAVENS: WR MARQUISE BROWN, Hollywood, was the first receiver drafted. Baltimore doesn’t pass much, and their number one option is TE Mark Andrews. Still, he has 195 receptions for 2,361 yards and 21 touchdowns. A-
32. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: WR N’KEAL HARRY, In his defense, the Patriots can’t draft wide receivers. He only has 57 career receptions, 598 yards, and 4 touchdowns in three years. F
