Week 2 Fantasy Football re-cap
Non PPR aka Standard Scoring studs and duds of the week
I had some potato skins, beer and chips while streaming the Red Zone channel on Sunday. Things are starting to feel normal. Here are my thoughts and observations on week 2.
Teams that score 39 points with no turnovers are 440-0 since 1933. Until yesterday…
when the Atlanta Falcons blew a 20 point lead and lost to the Dallas Cowboys. The last time they blew a lead that big was in the Super Bowl to the Patriots. They were leading 28-3 in the 3rd Quarter.
Justin Herbert is the real deal.
Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert is the real deal. He should be QB1 moving forward. Tyrod Taylor just got Baker Mayfieled again.
Wide Receiver DeAndre Hopkins and Quarterback Kyler Murray are clicking.
Wide Receiver DeAndre Hopkins and Quarterback Kyler Murray are clicking. And the Arizona Cardinals are 2-0. DeHop’s old team, the Houston Texans, are 0-2. How’s that David Johnson trade working out for you guys? The same thing happened to another team that traded for a fantasy stud wide receiver. The Buffalo Bills are 2-0 with Stefon Diggs while his old team, the Minnesota Vikings, are 0-2. Ya Digg?
The Pittsburgh Steeler offense is putting up some points now that Big Ben is healthy and under center again. Running Back James Conner had a nice bounce back week after getting hurt in week 1. He was drafted as a RB2 in most fantasy football drafts. Another old timer, Tom Brady, got on the same page with Mike Evans for the Bucs first win of the season. Fournette might be the new RB1 in Tampa Bay.
The Tight Ends are back.
You can scroll down and read about them in the fantasy football studs and duds.
It’s going to take me a while to get used to saying the Las Vegas Raiders.
What happens when you don’t tackle in training camp or you don’t play any pre-season games? You get hurt. Guys are piling up on the injury reports.
Some fantasy first round picks are going to missing a lot of playing time.
Saquon Barkley has a torn acl. Christian McCaffrey could miss 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury. Defensive End Nick Bosa rolled up his knee. Not to mention that about four offensive starters for the 49ers also got hurt.
