Preseason Week 1 wraps up today, and oh boy, we’ve learned a lot! First off, Bazooka Joe Milton is out here showing off that cannon arm and making #1 pick Drake Maye look like a practice squad hopeful. Milton led the Patriots on two scoring drives in a 17-3 win over the Panthers, and he runs like Lamar. But, of course, in true Boston fashion, Pats fans are only happy when they’re unhappy, convinced they could’ve drafted someone better than Maye. Just like our fire sale draft boards, it looks like Bailey Zappe has to go.
Meanwhile, it looks like Russell Wilson will be the Steelers’ starting quarterback. Justin Fields, bless his heart, fumbled twice and got sacked twice in a 20-12 loss to the Texans. Ouch.
And then there’s Atlanta—now we know why they drafted Michael Penix Jr. after handing Kirk Cousins $180M. This kid throws a spiral that is so pretty that it should be in a museum. He’s accurate, too! The future looks bright, but Kirk? Rumor has it he’s heading to Vegas next season. Davante Adams is practically begging for him now, especially after looking so miserable on Netflix’s RECEIVER. Just goes to show money can’t buy happiness—are you listening, Brandon Aiyuk?
And the Bears Caleb Williams is the greatest quarterback ever, according to social media, because he went 4-7 for 95 yards against the Bill’s number one defense.
