Hey Fantasy Football Fam,

Well, Preseason Week 2 has come and gone, and boy, did we learn a few things about NFL preseason quarterback performances! From rookies shining to veterans struggling, this week was full of surprises. Let’s dive into the highlights and what they might mean for your fantasy draft strategy.

First up, Da Bears have struck gold with Caleb Williams. This guy is more Mahomes than Mahomes was when he came out of college. You might want to check your pulse if you’re not excited about him.

Y’all remember Bo Callahan? The Wisconsin QB was pro-ready. Well, there’s another Bo who is pro-ready. Bo Nix was named Denver’s starting quarterback and showed up and showed out against the Packers’ backups. He’s looking like a young Drew Brees in Sean Payton’s offense, slicing and dicing his way through Green Bay’s defense. Nix went 8-for-9 for 80 yards with a touchdown, and he even threw another one that got called back because he was just a smidge over the line of scrimmage. But hey, rules are rules, right?

And speaking of quarterbacks, the Raiders have gone ahead and named Gardner Minshew their starter. Let Minshew Mania begin. Meanwhile, Russell Wilson… well, he’s stinking up the joint. In his preseason debut against Buffalo, he couldn’t score in five drives, threw for just 47 yards, and got sacked three times. Yikes. Steeler fans, you might want to start praying.

But let’s talk about the most hyped-up backup quarterback battle ever: Trey Lance vs. Trey Lance. Wait, what? Yep, you read that right. After a rough start in Week 1, Lance came roaring back against the Raiders, showing everyone why he was a first-round pick. He threw for 151 yards and a touchdown and even ran for another 34 yards and a score. Cowboys’ fans, you might have a real competition for Dak’s backup now.

Oh, and while we’re on the topic of America’s Team, let’s talk about Brandon Aubrey’s 66-yard field goal. The man practically kicked the ball to the moon! Seriously, that thing would’ve been good from 70 yards out. Maybe it’s time for the NFL to switch to 150-yard fields like the Canadian Football League.
